Artist ownership
First Edition does not take ownership of the artist’s underlying intellectual property. The artist retains their work and provides only limited, defined permissions needed for approved services and offerings.
Applications and onboarding
An application does not guarantee acceptance. Selected artists work directly with First Edition to prepare profile materials, release structures, assets, and quality assurance.
Artist approval
A release should not be published until the artist approves its presentation, edition structure, described rights or access, contributor treatment, impact choices, and other material terms.
Editions and underlying copyright
Ownership of a specific edition—for example, Edition 14 of 100—does not automatically transfer the underlying copyright. Each release must state what rights or access it represents.
Collaborators and authority
Artists must have appropriate authority for submitted materials and identify relevant collaborators. Contributor approvals, splits, warranties, and dispute handling require final contractual language.
Fees, royalties, and optional services
Platform fees and any optional service costs must be shown transparently before artist approval. Eligible royalty and split structures must be defined for the specific release.
Technology and Fan Economy
Any blockchain, token, wallet, trading, fee, reward, or governance mechanism must be documented for the offering and reviewed for legal, economic, and technical suitability.
Required legal completion
License scope, term and termination, takedowns, representations, warranties, indemnities, tax responsibilities, governing law, and dispute procedures require qualified legal review.
